Step-Behind Crossover Tee Drill: Momentum to Peak Bat Speed
A tee-based overspeed constraint drill. The hitter is not allowed to swing from a static stance; instead they feed a controlled crossover step-behind into a stationary tee ball, stacking linear momentum on top of rotation so the barrel moves faster than it ever does from a still load. Every rep is scored on a bat-speed sensor, teaching the nervous system a higher ceiling for peak bat speed.
⏱ ~12 min📋 3 sets of 5 max-intent step-behind swings (roughly 15 total scored reps), with 15-20 seconds of rest between swings and 1-2 minutes between sets; log a 5-swing static baseline first.
What you'll need
- Batting tee
- Bat-speed sensor (Blast Motion, Diamond Kinetics, or equivalent)
