Recognition Duel: The 1v1 Read-and-Call Pitch Recognition Game
A head-to-head, small-sided competition where two hitters alternate as stand-in 'readers,' calling each pitch's type and swing/take decision out loud before it reaches the plate. Correct calls score points, wrong calls give points to the opponent, and the first to a target score wins. It isolates pitch recognition from swing mechanics so the only thing being trained and scored is the eyes-and-brain read.
⏱ ~20 min📋 3 duels of 2 reading blocks each; 10 pitches per block (about 60 tracked pitches per hitter). Target score 7 or 11 per duel.
