Checkpoint Route Progression: A Timed Outfield Break-to-Ball Drill
Outfielders learn the shortest true route by first running through a coach-set checkpoint marker on the ideal path, then graduating that checkpoint deeper and finally removing it entirely while holding the same break-to-catch time. A stopwatch on every rep turns route efficiency into one honest number you can chase down over a season.
⏱ ~20 min📋 3-4 rounds: ~3 reps per landing spot (straight-back, glove-side gap, throw-side gap) per round, full recovery between reps; ~30-40 timed routes total.
