At-Home Freeze-Frame Video Pitch-ID Prediction Drill
Using only a phone or tablet, a hitter watches slow-motion pitcher clips, pauses at release, predicts pitch type and location, then plays on to grade the read - training the eyes to recognize pitches early without a partner or a cage.
⏱ ~15 min📋 Rounds of 20 clips; score a rep clean only when BOTH the pitch-type call AND the swing/take decision are correct; log clean reps out of total (e.g., 14/20) as your pitch-recognition score
What you'll need
- Phone or tablet with frame-by-frame / slow-motion video playback
- Short pitcher video clips (own at-bats, a teammate's bullpen, or broadcast, center-field angle)
- Bat (optional, held in load position)
- Notebook or notes app to log reads
