- Set a baseline. Each player takes two crow-hop throws on radar; the higher reading is the number to beat.
- Explain scoring. Radar reading is the base score; a throw through the gate on a line adds an accuracy bonus. Hard *and* accurate wins.
- Compete in short rounds. Field a rolled or fungo ball, crow-hop, fire. Three throws per player per round, resting while teammates throw.
- Run a bracket. Seed by baseline, pair players head-to-head, and post every number on a board. King-of-the-hill or best-of-three both work.
- Crown a champion. Top two face off; highest clean, on-line throw wins. Announce the peak of_velo_mph.
- Cool down. Easy lobs, band work, posterior-shoulder stretching. No bonus max throws after the whistle.
Arm care is the drill, not an afterthought
Because every competitive throw is max-intent, this is an arm-care drill first and a competition second. Three non-negotiables keep it safe:
- Warm up progressively. The decelerator muscles at the back of the shoulder break down first. Bands before and after are mandatory.
- Cap the reps. Nine to twelve max-intent throws per player is plenty. Competition tempts players into "just one more" — do not allow it. Quality beats volume every time.
- Respect workload. Off-season is the ideal window to chase velocity, when there is no game wear competing for the arm's recovery.
